Rule Changes For 2014

AFL-LawsThe AFL has introduced a number of rule changes and interpretation changes for 2014. The changes further protect players from head and serious leg injuries.

2014 will see an emphasis on Rough Conduct - Head Clashes, Forceful Contact Below The Knees and High Contact. There has also been a few interpretational changes in regards to marking contests and "hands in the air" in the protected zone.

Riddell Umpires Selected For AFL Victoria U/16 Championships

IMG 0876The Riddell Umpires are proud to announce that a full panel of Riddell Umpires have been selected to umpire an U/16 AFL Victoria Championship Match between Gippsland and Murray Bushrangers on the 5th of April at Highgate Reserve in Craigieburn.

Carts Brings Up 300 Senior Games

Round 1 sees Graeme "Carts" Carter become the 7th Member of the 300 senior game club at the Riddell Umpires, joining Eric Garwood, Ollie Matthews, Alan Elliot, Ken Freeman, Bruce Pizaro and Robert Semmens.

Graeme joined the Riddell Umpires in 1989 and has umpired a total of 921 games as a Goal Umpire. Carts most recent game was the 2013 Reserves Grand Final.

Grill'd Local Matters Program Supports Riddell Umpires

grilldGreat news! The Riddell Umpires have been nominated to participate in the Grill’d Local Matters donation program at Grill'd Watergardens this month.
 
Every month, Grill’d donates $500 to local groups and asks their customers to decide who the money goes to.
 
When customers buy a burger, they will receive a token to put into one of 3 jars representing different groups. Whoever has the most tokens at the end of the month receives $300. The other two groups receive $100 each.
